My main activity is the provision of an independent, inspection and survey service, relating to protective coatings in the Marine, Offshore and heavy engineering Industries and carried out on behalf of any of the various parties such as the paint manufacturer, the painting subcontractor, the general contractor, or the owner.
Note: Protective coatings relate to paint, tank linings, spray metallizing, hot-dip galvanizing, passive fire-proofing, and insulation.

Below you will find descriptions of my core offerings in Inspection Services:

- Supervision and Quality-Control
I work at new-building or maintenance painting projects jobsites to assure that the entire coating project from ambient conditions and surface preparation through final coating dry film thickness and curing are correct and in accordance with the specification and good painting practice.
I'm equipped with all of the necessary field instrumentation to provide thorough Quality-Control (see my Inspection Kit list attached). Comprehensive documentation is prepared daily detailing job quality and progress. I've experience in both fabrication shops and the field. Field work includes structural steel, tank interiors, ships, offshore-platforms, bridges, and plants.

- Paint surveys
Examination and reporting on the condition and suitability of a protective coating system, prior to maintenance re-painting. Coating failure investigations including the extent of coating failure and possible cause.

- Consultancy
Assistance to client engineer's and painting contractors in the production of specifications.

- Training
Short coating inspection training courses for client's Q.C staff, with hands on training in the use of inspection instruments. I also test blasters and painters and certify that they are qualified to perform their assigned task.

Qualification

Being an effective Inspector/Supervisor requires qualifications that include formal education, skills, and personal attributes, not to mention specific knowledge about protective technology and field experience.

ICORR certified " Insulation & Fireproofing Inspector ". An English training programme based on knowledge and understanding of ISO, EN international standards. The ICorr scheme aligns to the requirements of EN45013 www.icorr.demon.co.uk
SSPC certified C2 for “ Specifying and Managing Protective Coatings Projects ”. A sharpened understanding of overall industry practices, beyond the area of specialization, with experience put in unison with the most current theories and practices that govern coatings project management. www.sspc.org
